General Directorate “Structural Funds and International Educational Programmes” is acting executive agency for the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism.
The EEA Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 is the contribution of the Kingdom of Norway, the Principality of Liechtenstein and Iceland to the reduction of economic and social disparities and to the strengthening of bilateral relations between the Donor States and the Beneficiary States.
In accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding on the Implementation of the EEA Financial Mechanism 2009-2014, concluded between Iceland, the Principality of Liechtenstein, and the Kingdom of Norway on the one side and Bulgaria on the other, the Ministry of Education and Science will be Programme Operator for Programme Area BG06 “Children and Youth at Risk”. The responsibility for the implementation of the programme commitments lies with the External European Programmes Directorate under General Directorate “Structural Funds and International Educational Programmes”.
The goal of the Children and Youth at Risk programme is to improve the well-being of children and young people at risk.
