The Executive Agency "Operational Programme" Science and Education for Smart Growth" is a second-level budget spending unit to the Ministry of Education and Science. The Executive Agency is managed by an Executive Director, as the management structure includes also a Deputy Executive Director and a Chief Secretary. The structure includes one general directorate “Verification” with two departments - “Technical verification” and “Financial verification”, and five directorates – “Risk management and control”, “Programming, monitoring and evaluation”, “Project selection and contracting”, “Financial planning, accounting and payments” (with two departments “Accounting and payments of the Operational programme” and “Accounting and payments of the Executive agency”) and “Administration and management”.
